    Fusion, and power outtage notification

New to the forum, and not really sure if this has been covered already, but now that the Apex is on fusion, i thought this should be one of the features that should be implemented on your end.

currently, alerts for power outtages only reports AFTER the power comes back online.

this made sense when the processing is done locally, and the box wouldn't be able to send out the notification until power was restored.

now that Fusion is in constant connection with the home unit though, it would be really nice if there's a feature that sends out notifications to us when connection is lost for whatever reason, rather than when things are resolved already.

being notified that the power has been out for 5 hours AFTER it happened wouldn't be nearly as useful as being notified the minute power went out.

If you have a power failure at home, Fusion won't be able to reach your controller.

Neptune is going to add a 'heartbeat' detection at some point once all these disconnects get sorted out. That will send you an email if Fusion is out of touch for more than x minutes.

I do not work for Neptune. Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums!
For Neptune support send an email (don't call) to: [email protected] .

Neptune is pretty tight-lipped on futures (as I would be if I were them).

For now though, if the heartbeat is what you're looking for, sign-up for Reeftronics. It's free (thanks Russ), and will send you an email/text if your controller does not respond to it after 10 mins... More specifics over on that site.

Bert, Reeftronics sends the first notification 1 hour after loss of comms, then subsequent ones at the 4-hour and 8- hour marks.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.
