    Check my doser programming.......

Hi all! My head has been spinning from reading all the threads on programming, but I think I am starting to get it.....I think!

Its time to set up my dosers in my new tank, and I wanted to post the programming here to make sure it was OK before I go "live". For now, I want to just run my Cal and Alk for 1 minute every 4 hours, and I want to stagger them by 2 hours. So Cal 1 minute, 2 hours later Alk 1 minute, etc...etc....

Here is what I came up with. Feedback appreciated!

    Calcium
    Fallback OFF
    OSC 000:00 / 001:00 / 239:00 Then ON
If pH > 8.20 Then OFF

    Alkalinity
    Fallback OFF
    OSC 120:00 / 001:00 / 119:00 Then ON
If pH > 8.20 Then OFF

This will be the ultimate test to see if I actually am understanding this, LOL! I appreciate any feedback. FWIW, this is a new tank with hardly any demand, but sort of want to ease in to it.

Your OSC statements are right on the money.

OSC statements are correct. May I ask why you are shutting your calcium off for high pH? Most people only shut ALK off for high pH.

You should be fine now, but as you increase your dosage, you may want to do hourly doses rather than every 4 hours to minimize the transient pH change when you add ALK

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can PROVE it mathematically.

I guess I figured it wouldn't hurt. The time between doses has to do more with the overall amount than anything. As the volume increases, I will dose more frequently. Back to the cal statement, do I really want to dose cal if alk is shut off?
