    Newbie With a Jr

    Hi Gents;
I was intrigued with the APEX control system when I first saw it a few months ago.
My Jr. system just arrived and was hoping that the PNP aspect would work without
a problem... All display/browser functions work.. The temp probe works great..
but NO control on the assigned outlet...In looking at the dashboard config it says
the heater is assigned to 4 instead of the PNP (red label) 3... Anyone experience similar
situation? Do I change the heater to 4 ? or is there something else that should be done.
    Tank you

Any outlet can control any device (subject to obvious amperage limitations of course).

Sometimes you wind up with a default program on a particular outlet. You can delete that/write over top of it/change it to any program you want.

ahhh got it.. I wasn't sure if you had to keep with the original PNP setup or not.. I moved the outlet and looked at the temp range and
it looks ok... on at 78.1 off at 79... is that a good range?

That's up to you and your tank. The controller can keep the temp as tight as you want assuming you have the heating/cooling capacity to do it.

I keep my tank +/- .5 degree year round. Others do things differently. Whatever trips your trigger(s) - pun intended!

The temp range really depends on what you are keeping. If its a heavily stocked sps tank, you will want to keep it no more than 0.5 degrees (ie if temp < 78.0 then on, if temp > 78.3 then off). If its a mainly lps or fowlr tank, 1.0 degrees would be a better range so that fish can tolerate emergency issues better (ie lose power and temp gets low, heater gets stuck on, etc)

For the ATO, get a simple program working using the example from the sticky. Once you have that working, I have a ton of optional failsafes you can add to minimize the chance of a tank crash if something fails.

Ha ha… Thanks for the pun… I'll shorten up to .5… this is all new to me..
    Question:
I want to control the fuge light, on 2100 off 0600… The PNP outlets are setup for temp probe as a shutdown on high temp…..
How do you access programming i.e. Fallback OFF
    Set OFF
If Time 20:00 to 06:00 Then ON
    with no mention of temp?
    More fun bigger prizes.
    Thanks in advance
