    Door switch

I brought two of these to use as door switches to turn on my lights undernearth the tank.

Interlogix Door/Window Terminal Contact, Surface Mount, White.

I have one switch hooked up and the light will not come on when I open the door. The light is LED with a switch to turn it on(the kind that you roll and it clicks to turn on).here is the program it's plugged into number 4 and the breaking box one wire in sw1 and the other in ground.

    Fallback ON

    Set ON
    If Swx4_1 CLOSED Then OFF

A couple questions to narrow down the problem.

    1. Does the light turn on when you close the door?

    2. If you set the outlet to manual ON, does the light turn ON?

Then you need to adjust the door switch or you got a bad unit. Remove it from the door and see if it will show closed when you put the two pieces together. If it doesnt, you got a bunk switch. If it does, then reattach and adjust until it shows closed when the door closes

The light now comes on when set in auto but will not go off when I close the door. If I wiggle the wires the light will go and off. If I you plug one wire the light will stay on and if I wiggle the one wire nothing happens like it does with two wires plugged in. Try another switch same results. The light will come on and auto but when I closed the door it will not go off

    thanks

That's a problem. Is this a Neptune BoB (and if so, does it have the clips or screw terminals) or DIY?

    Couple of things to try:

    1. plug a regular table lamp into the EB8 outlet your sump light is connected to. Does that change anything?
    2. post your program. Not sure why it won't turn OFF in AUTO.
    3. with a door switch wired up but not attached to the door, try moving the contacts around. The light should go on/off reliably when you separate the two halves of the switch.

It turns out that one of the two switches is bad. The one switch that is bad has a bad connector when you wiggle the wire the switch would work sometimes and not other times
