Clearing your browser cache or updating the firmware might help. I think you might be the first (at least that I remember) that had fusion work, but not the classic dashboard.

Are you trying to access your dashboard locally in your home on your home network or are you trying to get in from the outside?

In my home or outside I tried both it works on fusion but not on classic and I keep getting random emails from Reeftronics saying it lost communication then when I hit the test button it works says connection is fine. Weird right

    Yea, that's strange.

Fusion will work when remote access won't (port forwarding and that sort of thing isn't required by Fusion)

How are you accessing from the outside - if you're using your phone, are you turning off wireless first?

Does the smartphone app work - locally and remote?

Assume you've rebooted. Have you rebooted your router, then your controller? Sometimes when this weird stuff happens, that will straighten things out.

If port forwarding is broken, that would do it. Fusion doesn't need PF at all but Reeftronics does.

Have you tried looking at your controller's display to get the current IP address then just plug that into your browser bar while on your home network?

okay i have reinstalled and updated the firmware as per support recommendation. what i have discovered is that if i enter the ip address it works fine http://192.168.1.13/nstatus.sht .but if i enter the host ip http://lam********.mynetgear.com/which is what i have been using for over a year it will not work. however it will for my apex jr which is on http://lam********.mynetgear.com:85/ideas?? and i have restarted my router i have also checked that my apex is still the same ip address and same port number

post screen shots of your network config web page as well as the port forwarding page from your router. Something is out of whack there.

Your port forwarding should be forwarding a non-standard port to port 80, like you (sort of) are with your Jr. Most ISP's will block 80.

I would change the 'from' port range to something like 3000 - 3000. Then save your settings and try your URL with :3000 at the end.

Also, please post the full port forwarding page, not just a little snippet. Sometimes there's a flag to enable/disable the forwarding rule that doesn't get set correctly.

Because things change. ISP's are always changing stuff. Yahoo email use to work too...right up until the day they implemented SSL. Then it didn't. Chrome works for web cams 1 week then it doesn't the next.

Maybe your ISP picked this week to change allowing port 80 and not tell you?

When you use a DDNS hostname while you are on your home network, the traffic is going through the router then coming back into the local network (a process called hairpinning), but that traffic is not actually going out onto the Internet. So any port-level blocking by the ISP won't be in the traffic path. The problem here is not ISP blocking. The symptoms are more indicative of an IP address conflict.

Look at the DHCP client table in your router if there is one.... are there any devices listed with IP addresses near that of the Apex?
