    Apex Ready controller for Waveline

Are you happy with Apex ready controller for your Waveline pump? May I ask what Waveline model pump are you running? Any problems?

I have a Waveline DC12000 and I love it. Just make sure to get the adapter as the fitting is not US standard. You can get the adapter from BRS>..

I'm not as happy with the waveline/apex integration on my dc6000...I've had weird issues with it, but I suspect some of them are issues with the controller itself not so much the pump or the apex.

Issue 1. pump doesn't always consistently come back on after power cycle when apex was connected. this was fatal, i had to stop using the apex control for this reason alone. i've noticed sometimes it won't start up if there's water back-siphoning down my return, too, but i'm pretty sure it's 2 separate issues, both aren't great, but the latter is not usually a problem, and the former was biting me every time.
issue 2. selecting "high" on the pump vs "high" on apex would result in 2 different speeds. The pumps "high" is always higher than the apex could ever achieve. This was kind of annoying. If you were running the pump full blast all the time, this would be a deal breaker. If you were running the pump at less-than-full power most of the time, then it's probably OK.

In hindsight, I would have just bought an AC pump like the fluval SP series to hold me over til the COR is out, they are SOLID and i wouldn't bat an eye at one...the DC6000 will likely become my "spare" pump once the COR is released. I don't really trust it long term. the controller just seems bugged...I also worry that RLSS is just disappearing off the face of the earth? For a while now it seems you can't find any RLSS or the BLDC pumps except for old stock, and now jebao has the new DCP Series, I wonder if they all need to re-tool for this new model? I don't know, it seems like the waveline series of pumps is in a weird state in terms of being able to actually buy one...and given the issues i've had, i'm not sure i'd actually want to.

Thanks for your advice. As you know, there are a lot of factors in keeping a reliable operating aquarium. A good solid pump being #1. Your experience with the Waveline/apex combination isn't the only negative response I have read. The few negative reviews on BRS questions Waveline's customer service, too. I purchased a Jebao DC 6000 (DC Models supposably apex compatible) from Amazon, it failed to power up so that pump went back the next day. 5-Speed Controller was cheaply built and it may of been just the power bar but that was enough of a sign for me that this was a disaster waiting to happen. I a lot of these China or Japanese return pumps worry me because of the not only their reliability but follow service. Others praise the Waveline and Jebao pumps but the negative responses are enough to steer me away. It's not worth trying to save a few bucks with the possible headaches down the road. I hope I can track down a reliable Brand DC pump apex ready or the COR pump that's reasonably priced and with a GFO around 900-1300 range.

LOL, well at least i have pumps to hold me over. The waveline isn't great but it works. I will be happy to make it my backup/salt mixing pump when they do finally release the COR. My other tank has a fluval, i'm not worried about that pump at all, will likely replace the DC6000 with a COR15 as soon as they are out though.

Talked to Terrence today at RAP and he commented that the CORs would probably be available in January. FMM is probably a bit further out it sounded like.

Hello you are the best company I have dealt with, I have a question for your new Return pump.

    - what is its volt 110v or 220v, would it work in Europe ?
    - when would it release ? and if you have 2 different version I want to know the release of the Europe one ?
    - How much would it cost ?

    thanks

And like usual this is a Community Forum not a place that Neptune does not reply on everything, only occasionally will give tidbits from time to time so I am not shocked nor would expect to get a response from Neptune.
