    DC4 HD Failed...options

    Hello...

I'm using a AC Jr. and it appears that my DC4 HD has failed. It currently controls Geisemann Spectra (two 250 halides and two sets of two 54w T5s). I can hear the switches click on and off but it will not supply power to the fixture.

My question is can I purchase an Energy Bar 4 and hook it up to the DC8/AC Jr?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dan

Unfortunately no. The apex is backwards compatible, but the AC Jr is not forward compatible. If you can't get it fixed, it might be about time for a christmas upgrade. Your DC8 can be used in an apex though, so that would save you from needing an additional energy bar.

Thanks for replying. I suspected that was the case but I was holding out some hope. Looks like daddy needs a new toy!

There is a fuse in a DC4/HD. If that fuse is blown, you will get the described behavior. It is user-replaceable. The fuse is a 15A 5x20mm fast-blow.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

Thank you for your response Russ. I'll check the fuse for sure.
