Ditto, I'm guessing they've got a camera in the development pipeline or they'd be spending at least _some_ time on this.

FWIW, I was able to get this working on iOS but not windows (no Mac to test with at the moment). Even with it "working" it's quirky. The first time I scroll past my camera it automatically jumps full screen and I have to close it back down. After that it's 50/50 on if it keeps streaming or just goes to a stationary image with a "play" button in the center.

It's possible Justin. I have never seen such non friendly customer support system like Neptune which relies mainly on community blogs like this to help get folks thru the process The nest is a main product category and it should have clear guidance from the company directly to help us.

I think a few of you who have commented here lately may not understand the fact that accessing a NestCam / DropCam directly or accessing the raw video stream from the Nest cloud is not supported by Nest. Nest wants you to use their app, their ecosystem. Neptune has no control over that. Also the fact that the different web browsers have widely/varying support of the various types of video streams is outside Neptune's realm.

The procedure here is flat out unsupported geeky trickery - a convoluted and complex way of doing something Nest doesn't want its customers to do.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

No confusion on that here, I was genuinely surprised to see that anyone get a Nest cam working with Apex.

That being said, why don't you use some of your Neptune connections to nudge them in the direction of the "Works with Nest" program. "First aquacontroller to work with Nest" has a nice ring to it!

I was happy to find this thread and succesfully added my dropcam (now nest cam) to the fusion page and app. I was previously able to make the technique of grabbing an image work using https://nexusapi.dropcam.com/get_image?width=800&uuid=xxx URL as mentioned in another thread which incorrectly states that this no longer works. In either case, you have to grab the uuid from the html of your video.nest.com page.

Why can't Neptune allow a snippet of HTML be inserted as one of the options so it's less of a hack?

@DCJ was wondering if you don't mind helping. I am trying to get my nest cam up and running to my fusion page but to no avail. I have the cam up and running and public but can not get it into the fusion page. I tried entering this... https://stream-alfa.dropcam.com:443/.../playlist.m3u8 in with what looks like my cam id.

    Am i missing something?

@XocyrusX The streaming URL only works in Safari and the iOS app so I actually reverted to just grabbing the current image for the Apex dashboard. That's done using:
https://nexusapi.dropcam.com/get_image?width=800&uuid=<insert your camera ID from your video.nest.com page here>
The type needs to be set to image.

Does the image URL work for you? You should be able to see it in your browser.

Thank you DCJ for your response. I found a very long ID number as described in the source code above and placed it in and it worked. I used the stream.alfa with success.

All is up and running on my mac and iPhone

DCJ I do have another question... when you open the app does the video go straight to full screen as well?

I just wanted to post an update since it looks like Nest updated their code.
Here is the list of relevant information from the view source page in Safari.

Do you think Nest updated their code again? My Nest cams all no signal running rtmps in BlueIris. Any input will be appreciated!

https://stream-alfa.dropcam.com:443/.../playlist.m3u8 Switched "alfa" to "delta" and video stream works on safari on MacBook. However, still can't video stream or still image on IOS devices such as iPhone or iPad. Attempted the rtmps: code fix mentioned above but received format errors when the code was entered. Is there any updates on fixes for this. Was working fine with the "alfa" string across all devices until recently...... Thanks...

At this point I have no idea. All of my cameras (Nest and Foscam) were working fine, but now none of them are.

Thank you Anim8me2, I can believe how difficult is to setup this camera... I thought the video was working at least for IOS. I guess we will wait... BTW.. this thread should not be called "Nest cam with fusion now working"..... is more like WIP..

I got it working on a MacBook Pro with all three alfa, bravo and delta. It will only work on iOS with delta.

    What code did you use?
Also, is it working in your home network and outside?
