gyre icecap module and status light after programing

thank you of your help!

connected and program gyre 150 via the videos at coralvue website. the issue is that the pump doesnt seem to pulse as programed and i get the red status light on for a few seconds (pump not moving), goes off and pump does its job (though at lower intensity than it should be) and the cycle starts again. any ideas??

another note, i've done the programing for a pulse but it doesnt appear to pulse at all. certainly not to the 90% max that i programed.
