Apex no longer obtains IP address

    Summary
    -Ethernet cable got damaged
    -Replaced it
    -Reset router settings
    -Set Apex to DHCP
-Both link lights are on, green is blinking
-Tried the same ethernet cable with another device [Aruba RAP] - got an IP and it pinged

Tried resetting router and Apex multiple times. Only thing I changed on the Apex is the port to 8080; all other settings are correct [subnet mask, gateway, etc.]

Tried port 80; same issue. I mean my firmware is outdated according to Fusion [4.40_8F15 as opposed to 4.40_3A16. But surely that cannot be the reason?

So, on the display module what does it show as the IP address?

192.168.1.75; but on the router side that IP has not been leased to any device including the Apex. It seems the issue is on the Apex side; because I used the same cable [same location] with my Aruba RAP and it got an IP/pinged just fine.

EDIT: Can I console into the Apex?

Try connecting directly to your Apex via ethernet. Give yourself an IP on the same subnet and see if you can reach it.

It would still need it's own unique IP address; unless I'm missing your point.

Right, so, set the IP address of your desktop/laptop 192.168.1.74. Subnet 255.255.255.0. DNS/Gateway doesn't matter. Connect to your apex directly via a single Ethernet cable. Set it back to "DHCP" and reconnect it to your network. It should then pull a DHCP address and be reachable.

Based on what you're describing it sounds like your APEX is currently set with a static IP address with an incorrect subnet/gateway.

Just to inform anyone who might come across the same issue; had to do a factory reset on the Apex. It finally got an IP address and now it works like a charm.

Good move on Neptune for allowing you to pull down your configurations despite not being connected.

Thanks again to Luis Velasco at Neptune Support; he was a pleasure to work with.
