Programming for two heater to level out temp variations

So I have a 500w finnex and a 300w finnex heater. Both controlled from the apex. Im curious if there would a a benefit to running both heaters on separate outlets and program them in a way that they will be able to smooth out the temp spikes.

As in hysteresis? What's the problem you're noticing?

You can run the 500W as the primary and have the 300W secondary; by adding a defer command to the secondary it will come on much later than the primary.

Not having a "problem". Just have to heaters and thought that maybe running one along side a smaller one to say "supplement" the other to kind of smooth things out. Less swing in temp I guess.

Is it better to run a smaller heater that's on more often or a bigger heater that switches off more often? Which would be the main heater?
