Anyone using this cabinet from ikea?

    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/pr...51/#/S99047763

Looking for something like this for my Apex gear, so I don't have to put it under the stand. I have seen some others post about it, but never could find finished products, like how they mounted gear inside?

    Anyone?

    Thanks

    Here is my control panel

I just used my old Coraline Nano stand and custom cut a pcs of plywood and then mounted my gear which will go inside of my stand. Also, I will be adding my 2 TUNZE pump controllers, my Skimz protein skimmer controllers and my Ecotech controller and this project will be done and I will be ready to hook up this bad boy.
Here is a pic! I am not done with it yet but almost. Sorry for the HUGE pic..lol

I actually just purchased that and the smaller version of it and stacking them on top of each other. I also have the smoked glass doors. I went to Home Depot and got a piece of wood that can fit inside and will be mounting the pieces on the wood at a angle. I also painted the wood black. My Apex 2016 comes in tomorrow and I will post a pic when I am done.

    Made a few changes

Finally, have my Apex CLASSIC UP AND RUNNING! This pix was taken before I installed my ALD MOD. Anyhow, now I have my ALD module running and my temp and Ph probe. Also, I have up and running are my two leak detector probes that sit around my tank and I did my coding for it and it worked perfectly. I have to move my Temp and PH probes b/c where they are installed here some air bubbles coming up from my Skimz the Protein Skimmer.

It's 2 BestA cabinets. 1 is smaller then other. The smaller one has the power strip. The larger one has the control board. I went to home depot and had them cut a pieces of wood to fit inside and mounted equipment on that.

    Nice pictures and cabinets!
gives some great ideas of what can become of the spaghetti mess haha

does anyone have a picture of what the cables/ wires look like from the back side ?
are most the wires hidden in the cabinet with only power cords to the wall showing ?
apologize for the request and questions guys, I'm a visual learner thanks

    Back of the cabinet.

I did some rearranging on my panel with my TUNZE Controllers so they could be linked together, so I have moved them to the bottom of the panel. All of my wires and the dual EB8's are behind the control panel board... For the front, side I USED Raceway Ducts with Covers that are 1M Long 25mm x 25mm Gray PVC Insulating Open Slots and for the back I used StarTech 2inx1'' wire ducts to tuck all my wires away. You can get them on Ebay, FYI!!! I still have to do a little wire management on the back side and run a wire duct all the way across the back of the tank stand so you will not be able to see a single wire when it's all done.

Hey, just came across your post of your controller cabinet and I bought the same setup today. Just the big one, not the smaller. Any more detail or pics to how you mounted the false wall?

I just cut a board to size and mounted at angle using a hot glue gun. Used a hole saw to make holes for wires and painted black to match stand.

I have changed things around since these pics but it's still going strong!

What are the dimensions of the false wall you cut for the inside for both cabinets?

Yes, I'm actually a Big fan of his books in fact I have a complete collection of signed copies of all of his non-fiction books. Prefer the Dirk Pitt adventures, but also enjoy the other series especially the NUMA files.
And I see that you are a Trimix Diver, before retirement I was a Rebreather Instructor Trainer here in the States.

Interesting. I tried a Meg one time in the pool with Tom Mount when they were under development. I don't remember much about them but I do remember Tom loved them and immediately got one of them, actually I think he got two. I focused on the Inspiration until my retirement from diving in the early 90's but loved Rebreather diving which in my opinion is really the only way to go diving especially if you want to view sea life.
