    PAR sensor left dry

Obviously, the PAR sensor is not shipped wet, like pH probes, but I was curious if a PAR sensor that falls out of the water could be damaged? One of the tanks I take care of had a PAR sensor in it and it somehow got pulled out of the water. It may have been there 4-6 months. Is it possible it is damaged or is it likely still usable?

I would think it still usable with no issues. I would reset / re-calibrate it though upon putting it back in the tank. Was the owner not monitoring their PAR levels the whole time?

Thanks for your feed back. The initial programming only had alarms are the extreme end of things. The probe was still in the canopy so both the lights from the tank and sunlight from a window were hitting it during the day.

No the PAR sensor does not have to be submerged i use it out of the water below the lights for main testing of light bulb degrading and only put it in water when i need to test specific areas.... Remember the probe is water proof so there is no real contact for water ....
