    Mixing Barrels

Does anyone have any suggestions for getting a feed tube held in place in a mixing barrel? I'd like one in the NSW and one in the RODI for ATO, obviously towards the bottom. I was thinking of one of these fittings at the top of the tank and then attaching rigid tubing to other side that extends down into the tank.

I'm just worried about it not making a proper seal and sucking air.

Be aware this does not come with the sealing gasted. I guess it may leak.

I use the 3/8" rigid airline tubing, but didn't bother with a gasket. I just drilled a hole in the top of the container and ran the airline tubing down to the bottom and then ran the 1/4" RODI tubing inside the airline tubing.

The plan is to put it at the top of the tank, so it won't be holding any water in the tank.

Thanks. I'm just planning on going with the 1/4" rigid, which BRS says works with the push lock fittings. I was just worried about letting air into the system.

I found some push connect 1/4" bulkheads on amazon and drilled a hole near the bottom to install them. inside I put a push connect elbow with a 2" piece of tube just to make sure it was drawing from the very bottom.

You could also install a 1/2" bulkhead in the top lid with 1/2" PVC down to the bottom, with about an 1" clearance...then use this as a sleeve for you 1/4" line. The 1/4" line wont be able to coil back up within the confines of the PVC sleeve. Then just use a 1/4" by 1/2" rubber bushing (or silicone) to seal the gap if you want it air tight.

I have had the hardest time finding 1/4" rigid that works with the push-in bulkheads. I learned the hard way that 1/4" acrylic tubing does not work.
