    Leak Detection probe ?

Is there any difference between the LD-1 and the LD-2 besides how thick or thin they are?

No difference other than the thickness.

How do they differ in function? I mean, when would I buy the thicker model vs. the thinner model? I have the old leak detection modules with the slim profile and I just find that it sometimes it easily flips if the cable is slightly elevated.

The standard one is weighted. The slim profile sensor is not weighed, as it is intended to be placed under the edge of carpet.

I was gifted a low profile ALD Probe. Can this be plugged directly into the Apex (2016) via the EB832 or Base Unit *or* is an ALD Module REQUIRED? I searched online on the various manuals, but wasn't able to find an answer to this. Thanks!

Niveknow, please do not post the same thing multiple times. This is called cross-posting and is generally considered to be poor forum etiquette.

What is the actual thickness? I can't seem to find the sizes.

    Meanwhile the answer ...
It depends on the kind of connector your ALD probe has. If it's like a phone plug ... then you need an ALD module. If it's like a jack then you need the FMM to plug it in.
No ALD sensor connects to EB832 or base unit!

    All the best,
    Rui

    According to the reference manual...

¼” thin ‘under carpet’ sensor and a 5/8” thick sensor that is weighted with 1.5oz of lead. There is no difference in detection capabilities between the two sensors, they use identical circuitry.
