Getting the magnet onto the powerhead

Hey all. Just got a WAV pump starter kit and I'm having a very hard time mounting the pump on the magnet. I read and reread the guide. So I know I'm doing it correctly. But it takes all my strength and I still can't quite get it all the way on. I've also watched like 5 different videos on You Tube. They slide the thing on and off like it's no big deal. Am i an idiot? Lol What am I missing here?
    Thanks

Is this a generic form for all Neptune equipment? Bc it only lists the base units and my problem has nothing to do with them.

Fill it out with the required info about your Apex, then describe your WAV magnet issue in the big box.

Now I do not feel so bad. I had to brute force mine on, (and I am not a small guy) but once it got past that push I wasnt able to move it. I needed a rubber mallet to get it off and adjusted.
Current: 120 Gallon Peninsula DIY system.

I had the same problem. Mine were very hard to put on, and nearly impossible to adjust. I filled out a support ticket and they sent me new magnetic bases. The new ones were very easy to install, and adjusted just as easily as in all the videos you see. They must have had a bad batch of bases.

    Hello all,

    Have you tried solid Vaseline?

    All the best,
