    Post SV-1 Solenoid Valve

    Just a few questions please....

1- Any way to mount these?
2- Are you going to come out with one that is normally open?
3- Any problems putting Solenoid / Solenoid / Flow meter in line for redundancy?
4- Do they run warm when in the closed potion for prolonged periods of time?

    Thank you for your time....

1- Yes you can mount them using the posts on the bottom and the right size screws.
    2 - Would be nice
    3 - I don't see a reason why this wouldn't work
4 - Mine runs warm but wouldn't say hot.

4 - Generally, the reliability of these devices is affected by the # of cycles, not the total on time. I'm going to assume these consume roughly 100 ma, so at 24VDC you're only looking at 2-3W of power to dissipate. Should be pretty benign.

Hmm, I'm still not following how to mount these. It comes with two screws and I don't see how using the posts on the bottom helps me mount it.

There are holes in those posts to thread screws into.

Thanks Russ, but now that I have two screws in there I don't see how that helps me mount it, unless I put some material in between....flush mounting is what I'm picturing and i guess this isn't suited for that.

I agree, They could have included a bracket. I understand how to mount this using the four screw holes, but its not a very convenient way to mount.

So basically just have to use the same size screws but longer ones that go thru the entire plastic piece? People don't mount these? They just let them sit on the floor? Seems weird they wouldn't make these mountable?

Was the issue fixed having the fmm power the sv-1? Did you also have the power supply plugged into the fmm or just the aquabus?

Has anyone tried to re-wire the relay to make it stay open? I know it would void any warrenty, if any, I would just like it to fail to the open posisition rather than the closed position for my application.
