Install help: old direct connect 8

Picked up the old school direct connect 8 on eBay. Should it just connect to the apex with a phone line? Fusion isn't detecting it. Any help appreciated.

You have to manually add it from either the Classic interface or through the display. Make sure the starting address matches the DIP switches on the unit. And yes, use standard phone line.

    Trying to connect old DB8

I've got the EB8 for my primary stuff. I picked up an old DB8 on ebay, but can't get it to work. I've added it as a module, and tried using A1, B1, A9 and B9 as starting points. The outlets do show up, but I can't get anything plugged in to work from it.

Need a little personalized help, please

There is a DIP switch on the unit, have you verified it is set to the correct outlet addresses? Also, on the cable, I cannot remember because it was many years since I wired one up, but I think I can recall that if you used regular phone cable, you had to swap the wire colors on one end of the cable. I may be confusing it with something else and I cannot find the old manuals.

The telephone-type cable needs to have 4 wires.

Old manuals continue to be available on www.neptunesystems.com
