Extending Leak Detector (Phone Style) from ALD?

I purchased some normal phone line and "handset" couplings to extend my leak detector probes, but they are acting up after being extended. One intermittently sends a CLOSED signal now and the other two never switch to CLOSED even when submersed. The remaining leak detector probe is not extended and works perfectly fine.

Can anyone link me to the exact products they've used to successfully extend these probes? US Big Box stores or online retailer preferred. Thanks for your time.

My two thoughts are either loose connection point and/or to line length is too long and a voltage drop is being interpreted as a "closed" sensor. How long did you connect the cable?

Thanks for commenting. I just ordered some "Straight Thru" wired RJ11 Phone Cables and will post the results when they come. I think these new extensions will work based on information in another thread.

I have replaced the extension cables with "RJ11 Straight Through 14' Cables" from Pacific Custom Cabling. This has *not* resolved my issue - so I'm pleading for help again here. I have attached some pictures of the couplings I'm using here if someone could point out any obvious flaws - but replacing these with known-to-work ones is my top priority here. Can someone link me some female/female RJ11? Couplers that they've used successfully with their ALD probes?

Coupling, most are not straight thru but cross over the wires. The one linked blow is a straight through data coupling.
