Question Kessil H80 Tuna Sun Flora Refugium LED Light

    Hello,

Does anyone know what should be the color value in VSP1 to match the blue, red, grow and bloom for H80?

I defined 60 trying to mimic the same color I see without the cable connected and the knob in the grow position but not sure if my eyes are not playing me tricks.

I found the definitions for the A80 but not for this new one!

    All the best,
    Rui

I couldn't find it documented anywhere, but it seems the knob positions equate to: Blue 25%, Grow 50%, Bloom 75%, Red 100%.

I am looking at this light for a macro fuge. How did you hook it up? Did the values above work for you? How has it worked for you?

    Hello Muttley,

Well ... the settings work. I used the v1/v2 to kessil cable and it works really nice ...

The question is that my chaeto now is not growing but getting really thick and dense (and very green and healthy) ... I will give it one more month to see the response and probably add another one as it might be to low light for my fuge
    i have 50cm x 50cm x 50cm fuge!

    All the best,
    Rui

I'm considering that same refugium light. The price point puts right where i recently priced a good DIY fixture tuned to the same growth spectrum. Any idea what PAR values you are getting?

On the color spectrum question, what does 0% get your? Since the lamp has only 4 settings, not 5, I would have assumed those positions to equate 0% Blue, 33% Growth, 67% Bloom and 100% Red. I have not purchased the unit yet, but unless 0% corresponds to Off, I suspect using 50% will put you halfway between Growth and Bloom.

    0% equals off.
I tried to visually match the color.
But I have a seneye so I will measure par and then post results

wonderful, I have been wanting to see the results from someone using this light.
Thanks for being willing to post up the results when you have time.
I recently picked up one of the maxspect celestial spot lights for macro growth to use on my fuge and will be interested to see what the differences in par are between the two lights before I spend the money on kessils

You are correct, it is for the H380. I apologize.

Yes, they have done the H380 only so far. I am hoping the smaller light gets some attention since most of run smaller fuges. I read that next they will be featuring the $,$$$ Kessil fuge light. Mabe one day they will remember the smaller reefer too.

I have one set up and these are what the settings appear to be:

0-25% seems to be blue (no difference from 0-25%, just the same blue)
26%-50% transitions from Blue to Grow with (50% being full Grow)
51%-75% transitions from Grow to Bloom (75% being full Bloom)
76%-100% transitions from Bloom to Red (100% being full Red)

Try pruning back your Chaeto when it gets thick. From everything I’ve been told this is a must do anyway to encourage growth and reduce nitrates.

How and where do you put these in the Apex programming? I am confused and need help. Can you give me these in code format?

Currently my H80is connect to the apex with the apex kessil cable VarSpd 1 turn the light on and VarSpd 2 turn the light from blue to red.

    is it done with profiles?

    Any help is appreciated
