    Apex Offline but it Isn't

I woke up this morning to a heartbeat notification from Alex fusion saying that my Apex is offline. However, it isn't. The standard web interface says "Fusion OK" and the old iPhone app connects immediately. When I try and use the fusion app it says it's offline?

    Any thoughts?

Your apex isn't able to reach the fusion servers. It could be a myriad of the things but DNS is a common issue. Have you tried restarting your Apex? Verify the DNS settings. I prefer to use google's DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

I took your suggestion and bounced the Apex. Once it came back up, it reconnected successfully.

The problem now is that I can't make any changes. I turn an outlet on or off, but after a few seconds it goes back to its previous state.

I can't make changes using Fusion, the old iPhone app, or the web interface either locally or through WAN access.

Doh! Try closing/reopening your browser. There's deffintely some scenarios where the page caches and it doesn't resolve correctly. If it's connected to fusion then it should be reachable locally.

It wouldn't let me edit it from anywhere or from any app.

I was finally able to resolve the issue by disabling fusion access, rebooting, then enabling access and rebooting again. I can now make changes.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure what went bananas?

Well, that didn't last long. It's offline again.

I can still connect via the web interface and the old iOS app, but not Fusion.

Did you verify the DNS settings on the Apex?

I'm having the same problem. In fact, I've been having this problem for a while now. Sometimes it works and most of the time it doesn't. It's a bit frustrating. I'm able to log in to the web interface just fine but Fusion goes on/off quite a bit.

I can't even get my token to link to fusion. If this apex is going to cause all these problems I'm done with it before I even start plugging stuff in. Plug and play. Yea right.
