How accurate is the current monitor on an EB8?

I just picked up another EB8. The first one I have has some tunze powerheads, algae reactor light, UV light, and fan. Nothing high output, in fact the only time it reads anything is when the fan is on. It gets to 0.3A.

On the new (to me, I got it from a friend) one, I have nothing plugged into it and it is reading 0.5A. Granted, some outlets are turned on but there is no current flow so there shouldn't be reading anything. Is there a way to re-calibrate it with no load? apex2.jpg

Yes, you can reset the zero on an EnergyBar. See page 139 in the Comprehensive Reference Manual. https://www.neptunesystems.com/support/docs/

Is there any other way to do it? I tried turning on the telnet server on 3 different computers. I even pulled out my old Vista laptop and it doesn't work.

You do not use a telnet server - you use a telnet client.

Try this: https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~...ty/latest.html Download puttyel.exe. No installation required - just download and run it.

After I wrote that last post I found my OLD Windows 98 laptop in the attic. After the 10 minute boot time (which we thought was fast) it worked. I knew there was a reason I was saving it!
