Can I /Should I, disable or bypass the ATK alarm?
Somewhat like a basement sump pump, I want to use the ATK and PMUP to pump water out of my refugium back to the display tank when the water gets above a certain point. This may take more than 5 minutes at a time. Unlike using a high volume overflow to gravity feed a sump, I will use a ¼ or 3/8th inch line from the sump to the refugium to gravity feed it. Then I will send water back to the DT as small volume return to create a low turnover environment.
I need to use the FMM because this tank is remote. If I connect to the controller, I can right code to turn it on and off at the right time but do I need to use inputs 3 and 4 so that I don’t run into the alarm or can I still use 1 and 2?
In addition to the one that I have on my sump, I plan to use my second ATK in the refugium. I am thinking that I could use the low level optical sensor to turn the PMUP on and off., the high water sensor to close a solenoid if the PMUP is not working as planned and the float switch as the safety feature, like it was designed.
Is there a better way to do this?
