What exactly does "not reading" mean?

has a FLAT line for graph and reads 20.5, configured to farenheit
A reading of 20-22F indicates one of these possibilities:
- the temp probe plug is disconnected - make sure it is fully seated and the little plastic locking tab engages.
- the temp probe plug is not making good contact inside the probe jack - disconnect it, then closely inspect both the plug and jack for any signs of corrosion or salt incursion.
- the temp probe has become damaged - inspect the entire length of the probe cable for nicks, cuts, sharp kinks, etc. Also inspect the probe body, although that's not likely to have become damaged
- there has been a hardware failure inside the Apex or PM# module.
