Using 2016 Apex to control rotating drum filter

I don't currently own an Apex but am considering getting one to control and monitor a koi pond filtration system - if it can do the following:

    1. Monitor a water level sensor
    2. Have a 60-minute timer running
    3. If the water level OR timer trip:
    - Activate a 120V output for 10 seconds
    - Clear the 60-min timer

The idea is to rely primarily on the water level sensor, but if it fails for whatever reason, the backup timer will save the day.

Can the new WIFI Apex be programmed to do this?

    Thanks

    It can definitely do that.

Thanks; while waiting for my post to be approved I read through some of the FAQ and yes, the Apex's abilities look really promising.

FWIW, the saltwater aquarium industry seems to be decades ahead of the koi pond market. Size of the market I suppose.

I forgot to ask: does the Apex have the ability to edge-trigger? In the above case of the float switch, I want to start a cleaning cycle when the water level drops, but only once. I don't want the controller to continually issue the cleaning command after the first time it happens. I want it to only react to the change of state, not the instantaneous state. Pretty sure it can by using a virtual state, but still had to ask.

Not easily but yes. The logic is really complicated to edge trigger.

    Keep thinking of more questions...

For the above water level switch, is it possible to record and log the time between activations? This would be useful in determining when the drum needs to be cleaned.

Yes. The apex has logging features built in for all outlets. You can log switch states as well but you need to create a virtual outlet to do so.
