Ahem. Calcium is low. Ahem. Lol
Sleek!!! Neptune really is investing in the design and packaging of product, that's obvious.
If anyone's listening... pick me for Trident NSI!! I need this in my life!!

And I thought the Alk tester was a must have! Happy to pre-order now!

Is the Trident going to be classic compatible?

It is deal breaker for me too. Most people test alk, ca, and ma anyway. But Neptune need to have some upgrade program for all classic or jr owner. They need to sell the 2016 base unit only so people can afford to upgrade.
Hands down best news I've got all week! wish I could of made it to MACNA this year, I'm saving my trip for MACNA 2018 Las Vegas, can't wait hopefully there's some more new toys on the way by then.
Sign me up for NSI please if your listening I want in! there isn't a product Neptune Systems makes that I don't own and have tested to it's fullest potential.
All that aside this looks to be a great addition to anyone looking to completely control any system and sleep a little better at night. Just knowing that apex fusion is right at their finger tips.
I'm sure there's going to be a ton of questions why it isn't available for the previous model apex users there's gotta be a logical reason why? I'm sure we'll get more details from Terence and Neptune systems when it gets closer to release date.
I always did wonder why the head unit for the 2016 wifi model wasn’t sold separately in the US market? I say that because in the UK you can buy just the head unit. I’m sure Neptune systems can find a way to profit and still help previous apex classic model users and give them chance to upgrade without spending the additional cost. The pH , salinity, ORP probes and the EB832 outlet are all available individually why not the head unit?
Normally it's cheaper in a package I get that I know there's a demand for single units, I know I would buy another one if I didn't need to pay for all the extras maybe just the EB832. Each one is already being sold separately, why not market it as a base package? I would be fine with just the head unit and the EB832. Just my two cents !

The main reason Terrace sited was due to the programming used. As with most any new technology, developers use the latest programming language to program the new widget. Sometimes the language is backwards compatible and sometimes not. In this case it wouldn't be for the same reasons we all had to reset up and program the new Apex. The base language must have changed enough to cause incompatibility with other programming and equipment.
Terrance, any plans on selling the 2016 base individually for existing classic users to upgrade? Or possibly something like a Trident upgrade kit for ~$900 which includes just the Trident and 2016 brain? Anyone at MACNA - if you see Terrance can you ask this?
This would be a great option for both existing classic users and people who run without controllers or with another brand to still be able to use the Trident... and sooner or later these people will likely become full-on Apex 2016 system users...
It's just a tough pill to swallow for the Trident at $500-$600 and then an Apex 2016 at $800. Both of which are reasonably priced given what they do, but just a lot to spend at once, especially when I already have a perfectly functioning classic which I am 100% satisfied with.

Well you would need more than just the base unit, the base unit does not include a 1Link port. Unless you already have the WAV pumps, you would need the EB832 or 1Link module as well I'd guess.
I don't love it, but maintaining two sets of operating systems, AOS for 2016 and FW for the classic, has got to be a huge burden on Neptune. At some point there was going to need to be a split.
I'd bet a dollar that the COR is the most technically complicated "accessory" available for Apex systems. This thing is a beast. And, I'd bet another dollar that the Triton will be 4x as complex. But the overhead required to develop two sets of code, with two sets of identical functionality, has got to be immense. At some point, the value just isn't there. This is an industry standard thing though, not just an Neptune Systems problem.
Why do you need the 1link port? To power the Triton, or provide communication?

There are two Mr. SWT videos, the first he dropped quickly wearing a white t-shirt and a second, more comprehensive review of everything wearing a brown t-shirt. It was in the second video.
So at about the 3 minute mark of the Mr. SWTV video look at the sharp looking fella over Terence's right shoulder that somehow made it on camera at the perfect angle. LOL. He looks vaguely familiar to me.
