Umpteen thousand people work here, but because of the new 9/80 schedule, I'm one of a dozen or so cars in the parking lot. This is the only thing keeping me awake right now.

That, and the need to drive over to FedEx to drop a package off.

So, I had an empty spot on my Apex board. Didn’t like looking at that vacant space.

    RFM is: (take your pick!)

    Russ’ Fake Module
    Russ’ Fakeout for MACNA
    Russ’s Filler Module
    Russ having Fun for MACNA

Before a FMM was there, there was a “TBD” module.

The REAL big news is the Trident... automated testing of the Big Three - Alk/Ca/Mg, with full Apex integration of course. Look for more info soon.

I wonder how much the Trident will cost. It can't be cheap if it test all 3 in one unit. But it will be worth it especially if you can set up automatic dosing and alerts if any single test is outside a specific range. This 1 item could change reef keeping forever.

They did it at the Macna meetup this morning.

    Neptune Trident

Rather than just an alk monitor it monitors all 3 major elements. You can see images in the Meeting thread Terrance posted.

I imagine something will be written up and posted by Neptune and the various blogs like ReefBuilders

That’s awesome! I can see that correlating with the dosing pumps

    Pre-MACNA teaser...

5 to 600 bucks????? The Alk only monitors are going for up to a grand. That's pretty much where I was hoping the Neptune Alk monitor would be. To do all 3??? Be still my heart.

Read somewhere else apparently no. Increases the effective cost of the unit significantly for some (most?) of us, but a good excuse to upgrade I guess!

I just saw the same thing. Perhaps they mean it's not compatible with pre-APEX generations of NS controllers like the AC3 or ACjr.

Hope the trident is wall mountable as some don't have the floor space!

If it doesn't work with the classic then they don't get my $. I'm not replacing a perfectly good controller just for one module.

Me too! Me too! Seriously, this is a no brainer.

Only downside I can think of would be making this wall mountable. Although that will be easy, I'll just 3D print one.
