Is that some kind of fuse?
Is that some kind of fuse?
Yes. It's a resettable fuse to protect the energy bar against electrical faults on the off chance your breaker box uses larger than standard breakers.

The thing I don't understand about that fuse... I've overloaded EB8 outlets three separate times and fried the outlet... why didn't the fuse trip? I'm assuming it will only trip if the rating of the entire unit across all outlets is exceeded? Just figured I'd mention it so someone else doesn't get a false sense of security and think the fuse will stop you from frying your outlets.

It's solely to protect the incoming line and bussing to feed the outlets. Individual outlet overloads are not protected at all (bad design choice IMEO as a protection engineer, but good from a business sense as proper protection would probably add $80 to the retail price).
