Use of 1link 24vDC port for controllable Tunzes under 30 watt.

I know you shouldn't use the EB8 for power supply for things controlled by modules like lights, Vortechs, etc. But what about 24vDC port on 1link module? The reason I ask is I'd like to plug my 1link module's power supply into a battery back up. The things on my 1link are the only ones I want on during a power out. Of course I'd have to DIY a cable with the 24vDC bare wire end to Tunze cord.
