30 ft 1LINK extension cable for PMUP?

Is there a way to DIY an extension for the 1Link cable? Wondering if I could just cut the cable and find the right wire to extend it the length I need.

My water change station is 30 ft away from where I have my FMM, also connected to a flow sensor, and I need to get the PMUP cable to the FMM.

The Neptune site says a maximum of 20 ft extension is possible through their 10ft extension cords, not sure why.

    Hello,

To my knowledge it can't be done. The max size for the 24v connection is 6 meters.
You can do it by extending the Aquabus cable (careful is not USB) and connect the module you want (1Link, FMM, EnergyBar832) to the point where it's close to what you need!

    All the best,
    Rui

General rule for extending electrical connections is to increase the wire gauge if you want to go longer than recommended. Would require making a custom cable though and some research about what the current gauge is and what it would need to be bumped up to.
