Solid Surface Leak Detector False Alarms

The Solid Surface Leak Detector can false alarm on tile.

My 'fish room' has a tile floor. I added the SSD to my Apex as a just-in-case and had many unexplained false alarms after setup.

    This drove me insane.

As a last resort before returning / complaining to Neptune, I placed a single (dry) sheet of paper towel under it and it stopped.

It’s known that moisture in bare concrete can trigger the leak sensor, but this is the first I’ve heard of this with tile. I’m curious - Is the glazed, or is it unfinished, such as terra cotta and Saltillo tile?
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

Nope. Porcelain tile in a climate controlled basement. They are 2x2s so it is possible there was moisture in the grout?

Weird, I know but it worked for me and it wont stop the alarm from sounding if there is an actual leak.
