    That is where they would typically leak and fail. Sometimes there could even be reddish-brown material leaking from the sensor.
    Nice to hear that they've been upgraded. So do you know if the current OSes available at the Neptune store are the new kind?

    I know nothing other then the replacement sensor looked a bit beefier where the wire exited. My post was a bit of a fishing expedition to see if one of the more knowledgeable members here would confirm or deny this. Optimistically hoping perhaps Neptune had examined hundreds of failed optical sensors and concluded that they needed improvement. Or not, possibly just found a cheaper supplier.
