How to avoid triggering an alarm after Feed Mode

    Hey Guys,

I've racked my brain trying to do defer commands and simple on off commands, but I can't figure out how to make this work.

-I have an alarm that changes the colors of my Radions when it trips.
-I have a trigger for the alarm that will trip it when ATK_Hi switch is CLOSED
-I activate FeedD (or any of them) and in my Alarm programming I specify "If FeedD 000 Then OFF" which keeps the alarm from triggering WHEN I ACTIVATE FeedD.
-My problem is that once Feed D ends, the alarm sees that FeedD is over and the ATK_Hi switch is still closed since the Vectra hasn't moved all of the water back into the main tank, and it trips the alarm.

How do I avoid the alarm being tripped AFTER FeedD turns off?

    Joshua

If FeedD 005 Then OFF in your alarm programming. Alarm won't be enabled for 5 minutes after your FeedD ends. Although I believe that if you cancel it manually, the delay is ignored, which would mean you'd get the alarm in that case. (I haven't checked that last part personally so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. )

It hurts my brain when these things are so simple... Lol

Any way to 'hard' prevent it? Even if FeedD is cancelled?

Yes. You could put a blanket 1 or 2 minute Defer command in your email/text/alarm programming. It would render your notification slightly less instantaneous, but will avoid false alarms due to temporary disequilibrium situations like the end of a feed cycle. Or, alternatively, you can put a Defer in your ATK Hi switch closed programming. As long as it's small, like a minute or two, the risk is low and the benefit considerable. You could even do both as long as you're careful.

I put small Defers in much of my Apex programming. It smooths out the whole experience.

I believe a similar solution would work for me but I'm unsure what the coding would be and where to enter it. Because of space constraints in my sump, my ATO with Kalkwasser gets put into the system close to my probes thus giving a false spike for one reading.
    Could you please assist?
    Thanks!!
