1/2" flow sensor seems to be reading very low.

My sensor is reading 187 gph on my the main return line of my return plumbing. The Sicce Synchra 4.0 return pump is rated at 951 gph and has a manifold connected, branching off of return plumbing but it only runs a carbon reactor now which is just a trickle going through it. I can put my hand on the output pipe of the return in the DT and it seems to be pushing about three times the reading. When the loc-line is pointed down it blows sand all over. Could I be getting a head loss of 764 gph? I have another 1/2" flow sensor but am somewhat reluctant to swap it out because it would be a PIA. Could the sensor be only partially clogged?

Hard to know for sure, but 1) most people who've installed these sensors have reported considerably less flow than they expected, 2) manufacturer pump ratings are for optimal best case scenarios with no obstruction to outflow, and 3) 1/2" is a small pipe for the flow rate you want to achieve, and that will definitely drop your flow rate substantially, especially through a manifold with right angle turns. So, the sensor may well be correct.

Another thing to consider is how much head do you have?
