PMUP failure and FMM error today. Strange behavior.

Had a FMM failure notice today at work. Had my brother check the ATO top off reservoir. It was low and the pmup must have sucked air. When I came home and topped off the tank, I found the pmup was running without pumping. I pulled it apart and the wiped off the rotor. This is a new pump (Less than 30 days old). Powered off the FMM, pulled the aquabus and repowered it. PMUP Back together and it's running. Has anyone had this issue?

(I plan on having a flow monitor in the ATO / PMUP line in the future to see if there is flow.)

Or you could add a low reservoir switch to alert you to fill the reservoir and prevent the Pmup from running.

Yup. Buy an optical sensor, fold it back on itself and secure it with a couple of cable ties, hang it so it's near but not at the bottom of your reservoir (the sensor 'eye' should be facing up), and plug it into that last remaining jack on your FMM. Now program that switch to turn off your ATO and send you a text message when it OPENs, and Bob's your uncle!

(BTW, maybe OP just had some air locking up the pump after running it dry?)

I have the optical switch set up.

The pmup pump keeps siezing up. Not dirty or the like. I take it apart and put it back together it runs. When it goes off (auto mode) the pump will not restart pumping just hums until the FFM faults out. This ATO Kit is 2 months old. This is RO water by the way.

Well that sucks, sounds like it needs to be replaced. And yes, I was going to ask if you use kalk in your ATO. Pretty obvious stuff, sounds like you've got it all covered.
