Yes, it will. Also, there is no functional difference between the older black-cased display with blue LCD panel and the newer silver-cased display w/ orange LCD panel.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

Will Neptune ever update the UI for the LCD? Possibly something more graphical?

Well if you are in Morgan Hill why don't you run down the block and ask them

Also unlikely since they are slowing moving away from the display Module and having people rely on the Fusion interface

The LCD display is still a valuable resource when your home network or internet connection to fusion is acting up. It's a shame that it's been reduced to a 2nd class device with an outdated interface instead of the center piece it was when I bought my first Apex.

It's also a very fast way to activate feed mode, much quicker than pulling out your phone or tablet and searching for the right tiny button to press. And there are one or two other things you can do with the Display that you can't do through Fusion. Plus it's great to glance at it as you approach the tank, quick check that everything is more or less where you want it. Although it didn't come with the base Apex 2016, I'm glad I bought one.
