    Leak Detection Sensors

My leak sensors on the ALD are all rusted on the metal contacts is that normal? Are the sensors for the FMM any different besides the plug? Mine also are wayyyy too sensitive going off with just the slightest moisture present and half the time I have to disconnect them would the newer version be any better

Think the new ones are the same but with a different plug

    Three hardware questions.
Is there a way to extend the length of the leak detection probe's cord to 50 feet?
Can the older ALD style phone cord ends be converted to the newer plugs (with careful soldering)?
Can either of the cord plugs be cut and the wires attached to your break-out box?

Monoprice.com seems to have hundreds of cables and cords. I got lost. What is the probe extension cord I would need for each of the two systems, both the ALD and the FMM? Can the probes be connect to a BOB?

It's not ideal, because it makes the sensors less sensitive but lots of people have extended them in threads I have read in the past and they still reacted well. I definately wouldn't push it more than 10ft though.

ALD uses RJ14. The FMM sensors use TRRS connectors, which have 4 wires; 1/8" stereo cables have 3 wires; they are not interchangeable.

You guys are unbelievably detailed, and I thank you for it. My idea of running extensions from my water mixing room in the basement to the display will not be feasible. Now I plan to connect float switches to the break-out box and a long 75 foot aqua bus cable to the base unit.
