    Eb832 Handle 1000 watt heater?

Can the new 832 handle a 1000 W heater and which outlet would I use. The heater would be directly plugged into an outlet where is the controller will be used as a back up and not plugged into one of the 832 outlets

    Eb832 Handle 1000 watt heater?

A 1000 watt heater @ 120v is approx 8.3 amps. So use the EB4 instead.

Your other option is to split your heating into 3 300 watt heaters, but you’re going to use up 3 outlets on your EB832.

If you are content on the 1000 then no, the EB832 will not handle it.

Above is correct. Personally I would use two 500W heaters and that gives you redundancy and the freedom to put them wherever you want.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

Thanks so much for this info, I will purchase EB4 And connect it to the 832 via bus port. I have a 500 gallon display tank 650 total gallons with sump, in the winter I need to use a 1000 W heater in the sump room and an extra 500 W heater in the tank that is not hooked up to Apex. Which outlet on the EB four should I plug this heater into ? Again thanks for your help

Outlet 3 on the EB4 is 12 amps. (It's actually printed on the case near the outlet.) I put a chiller (not currently active) on it.

Yes I did some research and found that a eb4 is the way to go so I ordered one along with the ATO kit :-)
