    Calibration solutions

Want to re-calibrate my all probes.
Do I have to use the Neptune solutions that came with the apex
or can I use any brand for pH and salinity?
If I have to use Neptune, where do I get it?

Prior to starting a new thread, please review the list of forum on the main page, then choose the forum which is most appropriate for the topic of your intended post. I will move this thread for you.

You can use any brand of pH calibration buffers, as long as they are 7.0 and 10.0 (for high range pH, such as is used for normal saltwater measurements) or 4.0 and 7.0 (for low range pH, such as is used for calibrating a pH probe to be used in a calcium reactor.) You may find some labeled as 4.01, 7.01, and 10.1; these are fine; the 0.01 difference is insignificant.

Conductivity calibration is a different story... I strongly recommend that you use only the Neptune 53000µS solution. Some solutions out there, despite being labels as 35PPT/53mS will not work.

Check your LFS or favorite online retailer - BRS, salwateraquairium.com and many others should carry the Neptune solutions.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.
