    Calcium Reactor Programming

I been dosing 2 part for over a decade but I got a large system now (300 gal display, 60 gal frag tank and about 120 gal sump) and its time i did this. I decided to take the plunge for a calcium reactor. The tank is 90% SPS with a few LPS and some clams.

I purchased a Geo 818 calcium reactor and an electronic carbon doser. The media i used was Reborn and Remag.

As per Geo's Reef initial setup I followed their recommendation which is 11psi on the senodary co2 gauge, 4 BMP and 30 ml effluent per minute.

If You guys think these settings should be changed please help out.

Now to the Apex programming I did this...looks very simple and probably incorrect so I need HELP.

    Fallback OFF

    Set OFF

    If pH2 > 6.50 Then ON

If pH < 7.50 Then OFF

(pH2 is the reactor ph probe within the reactor and pH is the main tank pH in the sump)

Do I need any safeties or emails etc?

    Thanks

That will work to start since you are using a carbon doser. If it were a solenoid, you would need hysteresis. Run it that way until it's tuned in and make sure you enable the log. There are some great failsafes you can add but you need some log data first to make them. Let me see if I can dig up the link to the thread that explains how.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

For any given outlet, you can enable/disable logging of state changes so that they can be graphed, viewed, etc.

I use the classic dashboard, Configuration>Outlet setup. use drop-down to select the particular outlet, radio button for Log.

It’s also in Apex Fusion in each output configuration page.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.
