That is typical for Neptune, and I personally prefer it. I would rather have a product carefully sent out the door with little or no bugs than one sent out with problems because they promised a date and hit roadblocks or QA issues they didn't factor in. A firm date is only ever issued from Neptune when they are 100% certain it is ready to go out the door that day and then they do more testing after that point to play it even more safe.
You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.
