    Radions going on/off/dimming during "daylight" profile.

    This has been a problem for over a month.


    I have a pair of G4 Pro Radions and a pair of G1/2 Radions.


    During the day, my "daylight" profile seems to randomly go off, and on, or dim. I have a override VO that loads a seperate program for cleaning. The override "LightsOn" doesn't have the problem.


    Today I used the wizard to do my lights, and I just looked over to see the G2s off. Flipped the override on, the lights came on, the color changed, and after a few minutes it all dimmed. It's on, correct color, but dim.


    I'm at a loss. All four lights have the same code. All four dim together. No weather effects.

    I run the same setup. For starters I would probably wipe the slate clean and start over with fresh factory cleared and firmware upgraded Radions. You can download the Ecosmart connection manager from Ecotech's website and factory reset each one via USB. Then do a fw upgrade on each one as well to make sure they are up-to-date.

    I will assume that the Apex and WXM are both on current FW. On the apex you could delete the Radion outlets that contain the programming. Once you reattach the lights, recreate the programming and give it a test. The copy function in Fusion makes it pretty easy to sync up all the lights with the original. The VO you have and related shouldn't make a difference. The fact that it's both G2's is good in that if it were just one light I would be concerned about hardware, RF chip etc.

    If the above doesn't work then I have a couple other ideas to try but for now that is what I might try.

    I have a very similar problem. Randomly during the program dashboard will say the radions should be at say 73% but they are off. If I turn them to on thru dashboard they come on but as soon as I go to auto they turn off. I did do the factory reset and reprogram and they still do it

    Posts which are vague and lacking details such as this one are less likely to get any response. Help others help you by providing as much info do as you can pertaining to your issue. In this case, the programming for the Radion output is essential, as is the EnergyBar output programming if your Radion power supply is plugged into a EB.

    Your schedule is rather strange. At 14:00, you have a point that is set for 75% overall intensity, but all colors are set to 0%, in effect turning the lights off. You have the same thing again at 20:00. There are other things in there that made me scratch my head trying to figure out what you were trying to accomplish

    I used my best interpretation of your Radion schedule and simplified & adjusted it for smooth transitions between points, and keeping the deep blue and 14k spectrum you used. The lighting period starts at 12:30, and over the next 2 hours ramps up to 100%; it starts at deep blue and as the intensity ramps up, it transitions smoothly from deep blue to 14k over that whole 2 hour period. The reverse happens at 20:00; from 20:00 to 22:00, it slows ramps down, slowly transitioning from 14k to deep blue.

    Just a update for future searches-

    my issue was the capacitive “touch” buttons. I opened each light, disconnected the ribbon cable for the light, and problem went away. Replaced them with some G4 Pros finally.

    Thanks for the tip on using Connection manager to update firmware, that came in handy on a clients tank recently.
