Hello all. I need some help & I think this community is awesome. My last tank was a 200 FOWLR 16 years ago. I am ordering a 240 gal this week (finally!) and would like advice on purchasing equipment. The more I read Bean system offers more control and is most quiet. I am having tank drilled with 3 drain holes & 2 inflows on bottom and 1 water drain 6" from top of tank on back glass for water changes into house waste line.. I spoke with Steve Bashsea (really nice guy) and purchased a ss-48 sump, Bashsea Twisted Skimmer 8-24 and Current USA 48-60 Orbit Marine IC pro LED fixture w/ loop which also controls 2- 2100 wave pumps . EcoTech Marine Vectra L1 pump for sump & skimmer. Do not want to use Chaeto in sump, but do want a Chaeto reactor (under 23") with LED's. Any suggestions? Read several horror stories on leaks. The Neptune Apex is pricey but worth it, especially when combined with ATK & leak detection (new wood floors). I used a Turbo Twist UV years ago and it worked great. I am looking at the newer version 15602 12x 36 watt. I did not like the reviews on the Lifegard QL-23 UV. I have learned so much from all of you reading your threads and I appreciate your imput. Merry Christmas!
