    Salinity probe temp compensation factor.

I was going to post to the calibration best practice thread but did not want to get it off topic.

I have a apex and a pm2. I set up the apex following the practice in the above thread. Then I added the pm2 and repeated the above directions. After dialing in the TC Factor for the pm2 (tank two) I realized that the TC for the pm2 is the same as the TC for the base unit.

    Is is this normal?

    Am I doing something wrong?

I cant figure out how to dial in the second tank without messing up the main tank. The temps are close but not identical.

    Thanks in advance.

    Chris

I've never tried using more than one, so I don't know If that's normal or expected. What I can tell you is that the temp compensation uses the attached probe so they won't compensate together even if they are set the same value. The probe in the PM2 will compensate based on the temp probe plugged into the PM2 and the one on the base unit will respond to the base units temp probe.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

You are not doing anything wrong; TC is a system-wide setting.
Please do not send me PMs with technical questions or requesting assistance - use the forums for Apex help. PM me ONLY if the matter is of a private or personal nature. Thanks.

Russ thanks for the info. I would have thought that each probe would get its own TC to help dial in. I will try to recalibrate again doing both one right after another. Just when thought I had salinity figured out.
