ok.. I see that certain outlets will handle a higher load. For example on the eb4 outlet number 3 is 12 amps. Is here a way to test reliability? I say this because after two years one of my outets..number 3 on my other eb4 is not working.

It's based on number of times it switched for the triac outlets (usually doesn't start acting up until about half a million to a million switches). For electromechanical it's based on both the number of switches and the load on The outlet (ranges 100,000 to 500,000 before acting up depending on load).
You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.
