Source for 6668 µS/cm conductivity calibratiion solution?

I'd like to use a PM2 to measure TDS in a freshwater tank. (I know, I'll need to convert from µS/cm to get a TDS number).

The PM2 manual says to use 6668 µS/cm calibration solution, but I can't find a source for it anywhere. I've looked at several chem supply houses, aquarium supply, Amazon... nada

Does this stuff actually exist? ;-) Any leads would be very welcome.

    Thanks

You can make it with Morton's iodized salt from the grocery store and RODI water. The ratio is 0.425g salt per 100mL of RODI. If for example you used a 2L (about 2100mL) soda bottle you would need about 9 grams of salt.

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

I'm also looking for the calibration solution 6668 µS/cm for a fresh water tank. The advice above is great but I'm in Australia and it doesn't appear we can get Morton's iodized salt here. Will any iodized salt do the job? Considering Neptune refers specifically to the calibration solution surely they make it/supply it. Any suggestion would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Whatever brand you have there that is pure salt. Avoid sea salt as that is too impure for this method.

Saltwater is 3.24 weight percent sodium chloride (table salt). See conductivity standard in this article.

Thank you, that's great. Just one more thing Iodized vs non-iodized salt - should I use one over the other?

It makes no difference. You just dont want sea salt because it's less pure than typical table salts like morton's.
