Problems with Direct-to-Mac Firmware update (pictures)

Can't plug into my router so I'm doing the direct-link method with my Mac. I'm following the instructions to the best of my ability, but this is what is happening:

I'm guessing the problem has to do with IP address I put in or the subnet mask

Well, I guess I will contact the folks at Apex. Last time I did they did not seem very happy about it...

You typed the ip address wrong. The left says 10.0.0.25 but the detected ip on the right shows 10.0.0.125

You might be an engineer if...You have no life and can prove it mathematically.

Nevermind. That's your ipv4 config for the computer not the apex. Im not very versed in Mac.

Considering it says failed unlock attempt by best guess is that you gave it the wrong username and/or password in the setup before you hit start.

I just fixed it right now! Here are a couple of notes about my situation. Previously the router was located in a separate building form my home, but it was actually moved int othe house and the apex running directly into it (which I had forgotten when I first wrote this). So I was able to sit down and do the traditionally-recommended firmware update. I was having problems accessing the controller through the flash utility, and discovered that it was because I wasn't using the default password to try to unlock it (admin/1234). The combo of figuring those two things out has allowed me to run the update successfully!
