Hi all,
I know this has been discussed before, but I am looking for an engineering/ scientific explanation !
Ecotech is currently refusing to cover Vectra pumps, for repairs/ replacement if they are powered by APEX !
The reason they do not, is that according to ETM, the frequent Stop/Starts Cycles triggered by the auto feeding mode damage the pumps.
I do not understand how this is different from someone having the Vectra Powered by a regular timer that shuts it down during feeding, or even someone turning the pump off manually during feeding. (Why would these be covered and if done through the controller they are not !!)
I am beyond puzzled that stopping the pump 3 times a day, for feeding, is the reason they get damaged. This makes absolutely no sense at all !
If you need to have the pump controlled only by Reeflink, why don't they mention that in their literature and manuals? Why don't they mention that the pump is not compatible with Apex in their brochures and pump manuals?
Looking for your suggestions on how to get these guys to cover a failed product which is hardly over a year old and was not cheap to buy. Needless to say that there are hundreds of similar cases if you go through the reviews of Vectra Pumps in BRS or MarineDepot, etc.
I truly regret buying the Vectra Pump.
PS. I am still in discussions with these guys with regards to their solution to this problem, I will keep you all posted !
