    Multi-Week Water Changes...Is It Possible?

Hello All, I'm sure this has been asked 10x before, but I'm looking for some personal programming. Honestly, I've tried a million times to understand advance programming and I can't grasp it...

Anyways, I know you are able to schedule days, but can it do weeks?

I am looking for a 5 gal water change every 3 weeks. Would you for example be able to do a gallon a day for 5 days Mon-Fri then 3 weeks later do it again?

Is it possible to do 5 gal in 1 day? Is it too hard on the unit to do more at once compared to stretching it out? Or does all the wear and tear even out in the end?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

Nope. The largest possible time interval is weekly unless you are crazy good with computer algorithms to recreate the interval with overlapping OSC statements.

Thanks for the quick response. Well thats what I figured...So plan B.

What would the settings be if I mark my Calendar every 3 weeks and turned it on manually? My rough calculations, which don't hold me to would be about 8 hours for 5 gallons. Can it even run for 8 hours straight??

Would I have to program one day lets say Saturday for 5 gal wake up in the morning and turn it on and turn it back off when its done every 3 weeks?

Just for curiosity sake, why wouldn't you want to do continual waters changes daily? That's the beauty of the DOS.

I do 3 gallons a day, every day. This will maintain stability better than 1 big change every 3-4 weeks.

If all you wanted to do was say 6 gallons per month, you could very easily do 0.2 gallons or about 0.75 liters a day.

I agree with above. Much better to do continuous daily or do like 2 gallons once a week.
