    Core Pump and Battery BackUp

    Hi,

I'm planing upgrade my return pump to Neptune Core but I would like to understand if it's functinality. My current return pump is a Ocentech and it's hooked into Apex outlet.

I noticed that Core can run independently of Apex, Ok But if I hook up Aquabus cable from Core controler to Apex but the Core Pump power I hook outside Apex Outlet? Right into the Battery Backup.

In this scenario during a power outage Core will still running of will shutdown?

    Thanks

    Jeferson

The cor15 connects to the apex over 1link not aquabus. If you want backup you need to use a UPS not a battery backup. A cor20 has a seperate power supply that could theoretically be connected to an auto throw over battery backup, but since the apex has to be powered to properly control It, it's better to just use a UPS for that too.

    Ok Zoombie, thanks

independently using UPS or Battery Backup, I would like to know if 1link is plugged into Apex and Core outlet is hooked to a UPS during the power outage Core will still running or will shutdown.

If this works, will save a LOT of trouble for us.

    Thanks.

How to hook everything up depends if it's a cor15 or a cor20. Which were you considering?

Man I don’t know, I’m evaluating. If Core 20 does I will get them.

With the cor20 you have two options

    1. Plug cor power supply and apex aux power supply into UPS. EB8s will have no power during outage but apex will be online and so will the cor.

    2. Plug cor power supply into UPS and 1 or more energy bars. Plug apex aux supply into wall with power monitoring enabled.

With cor15 you have to plug your EB832 into the UPS. The exception is if you have a classic (update your profile to show which model you have), in which case the two options above would both be available but replace the "cor20 power supply" with the "1link module power supply".

    Thanks. Now it’s clear. I’ll get a Core 20.
